Community Forum: Creating Accessible Arts Spaces

The Alliance Theatre will be partnering with We Can Dance to facilitate the interactive community forum about creating inclusive arts spaces. Together, we will explore how arts experiences can allow people with and without disabilities to participate, connect, learn, create and belong together.

Accessibility and Dance in the Dark™

We Can Dance designs its programs so blind, visually impaired and sighted participants can learn and participate together. Festival volunteers will be available to welcome and assist guests, and workshops will use accessible teaching approaches including verbal description, tactile and kinesthetic learning, non-visual orientation and trust-based partnership. Additional accessibility information for the venue and festival will be posted here before the event.

Your Ticket Helps Create Access

Every ticket supports We Can Dance’s work to expand access to dance, community and connection for blind and visually impaired people. The I Am a Sponsor Ticket allows you to attend the festival while also helping make the experience accessible to a blind or visually impaired participant.

About We Can Dance

We Can Dance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization creating accessible dance education, social connection and opportunities for blind and visually impaired people while bringing disabled and non-disabled communities together through dance.
